This piece celebrates the beauty of connection, thedefiance of boundaries, and the unwavering strength of women loving women. In our history, there’s a story often untold - during the AIDS crisis, when the worldturned its back on dying gay men, it was queer women, our lesbian sisters, whostepped forward with open arms and hearts. While the world looked away, thesewomen stayed, feeding, caring, and holding those who were cast aside. In theircompassion, they became lifelines, warriors of love, showing that community isnot just a word but an action - a fight for survival, for dignity, and for each other. This piece is more than just a celebration of that history - it is a testament to thepower of love, of solidarity, and of women who have always been on thefrontlines of change. Women who have fought not only for their right to love butfor the right of all to live authentically, without fear, without shame. It is acelebration of resilience, of the tenderness that has always been at the core ofrevolution.Queer women have always known how to build homes from ashes, how to createsafety in a world that often denies them space. They are the heartbeat of themovement, the unyielding force of care and survival. This painting is a love letterto those women - those who have come before us, those who stand with us now,and those who will continue to fight for the generations to come. This is not just about love - it is about fierce, powerful love that transforms, heals, and saves lives.
